In 1992, it won a Merit Award at the Presidential Awards Ceremony held parallel to the national Handicrafts Exhibition.
This is a common sight in the coastal belt of Sri-Lanka. Fishermen sit on a pole and wait long hours to earn their living. That’s an unimaginably strenuous task.
