Anuradhapura | October 10–11
This October, Anuradhapura will host a truly one-of-a-kind art exhibition titled “Blessing of Nature,” featuring intricate and eco-conscious artwork made entirely from dried banana leaves.
The exhibition is the brainchild of Nivandani Krishani Hettiarachchi, a teacher of English literature and a nationally recognized artisan. The showcase will be held on October 10 and 11, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at National Holiday Resort, Jayanti Mawatha, Anuradhapura.
Nivandani is not only an educator but also a trailblazer in sustainable art. Her signature craft—creating textured patterns and images using banana leaf fragments—has earned her a Patent, along with multiple Presidential Awards and the prestigious Swarnabhimani Award.
This exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to witness how nature’s most overlooked materials can be transformed into stunning, meaningful works of art. With each piece, she brings together environmental consciousness, artistic finesse, and cultural reverence.
